Microéconomie 2

S2, 6 ECTS

This course is a continuation of the Microeconomics 1 course taught during the first semester, and which is therefore necessary to have followed. in a first part, we will deviate from the standard "perfect competition" framework studied so far, and study instead how the results obtained previously are affected in a setting of imperfect competition or in the presence of asymmetries of information. A second part of this class will be devoted to studying public economics, in order to understand how governments provide for public goods and how they can act in the presence of externalities. The third part of this course will aim at introducing a specific branch of microeconomics: game theory. Overall, we will try to provide the students with as much economic intuition as possible, while introducing more formal tools and methods necessary for a complete micoreconomics analysis. The lectures will come with problem sets.
